Improved performance in flexible organic solar cells by using copolymeric phase-separation modulators
2018
One of the main problems related to the low performance of the organic solar cells (OSCs), concerns the low mobility of the materials constituting the heterojunction. Indeed, the poor charge transport in the active layer is the principal cause of a competition between separation and recombination of the photogenerated carriers. In this regard, a major obstacle to enhance OSCs efficiency is developing strategies to optimize the exciton dissociation and, consequently, the charge collection at the electrodes. Donor and acceptor systems must be well mixed on the length scale of 5 – 20 nm (exciton diffusion length) to meet the criteria for efficient exciton dissociation. In addition, the network…
Controlling the Phase Segregation in Mixed Halide Perovskites through Nanocrystal Size
2019
Mixed halide perovskites are one of the promising candidates in developing solar cells and light-emitting diodes (LEDs), among other applications, because of their tunable optical properties. Nonetheless, photoinduced phase segregation, by formation of segregated Br-rich and I-rich domains, limits the overall applicability. We tracked the phase segregation with increasing crystalline size of CsPbBr3–xIx and their photoluminescence under continuous-wave laser irradiation (405 nm, 10 mW cm–2) and observed the occurrence of the phase segregation from the threshold size of 46 ± 7 nm. These results have an outstanding agreement with the diffusion length (45.8 nm) calculated also experimentally f…
Tunable Structure and Properties of Segmented Thermoplastic Polyurethanes as a Function of Flexible Segment
2019
Segmented thermoplastic polyurethanes (PUs) were synthetized using macrodiols with different functional groups (carbonate, ester, and /or ether) as a segment with a molar mass of 1000 and 2000 g/mol, and 4,4&rsquo
